Music launch of Kamalahassan’s latest film Dasavatharam

Music launch of Kamalahassan’s latest film Dasavatharam was held at 7 pm on 25th of April with a budget of 70 crores. Tamilnadu CM Karunanidhi presided over the event. Jackie Chan, Amitab Bachchan, Vijay, Mammooty, Kamal Hassan, Asin, Mallika Sherawat, Hema Malini and Jayaprada also attended the event as guests.

Oscar Ravi Chandran donated 5 lakhs to CM relief fund on this eve.

I want to act with Kamal – Jackie ChanInternational star Jackie Chan said, “I saw a few scenes in Dasavatharam. They are extraordinary. It is a wonderful feat for any actor to don 10 roles. I would like to act with Kamal Hassan for a film. Everybody calls me superstar. But I honestly feel that Amitab Bachchan should be called as superstar.”

Only Kamal could do it – Amitab BachchanAmitab Bachchan said, “Kamal surprises everybody with variety characters. Dasavatharam would remain as a wonder in Indian film industry. I saw a portion of the film. And I can confidently say that only Kamal could do a film like Dasavatharam. I feel proud to attend this function.”

Dasavatharam is synonymous with the word wonder – M KarunanidhiTamilnadu CM Karunanidhi said, “Oscar Ravi Chandran made this film on high standards. This is the first time globally an actor doing 10 roles in the same film. Kamal Hassan has created a record already. I saw few parts of the film and I must say that Dasavatharam would give a new meaning to the word wonder. It is happy to see Jackie Chan gracing this occasion. Both Jackie and Kamal were born in the year of 1954. Jackie Chan was born on 7 July and Kamal on 7 November.”

Mammootty said that this record of 10 roles would remain forever.

Dasavatharam will run for 100 days – VijayTamil hero Vijay said, “When I do a role, I do some home work by visiting and observing the people who are in those professions like police or lawyer. But when Kamal does a role, those professionals come to watch him so that they could emulate him in the real life. That is the greatness of Kamal Hassan. He is my guru for acting. I am sure that my guru will make many more wonders in film industry. I am very sure of the sensational success of the film and I wish that Dasavatharam would run for an year.”

Raghubabu Natakostavalu from 27 April

Paruchuri brothers are going to conduct Paruchuri Raghubabu natakostavalu for five days starting from 27 April. Brahmanandam would also be felicitated during this eve. These natakostavalu were being held for the past 18 years without any miss. Popular producer D Rama Naidu is acting as trustee to the event.

Dasari felicitated 148 Telugu film directors during his last year’s birthday. His birthday is coming up on 4th of May. Dasari will be felicitating 95 producers who worked with him in the past. Sekhar Kammula and Eeswar Reddy will also be given best director and best debut director awards. Pasupuleti Rama Rao and Prabhu will be given best journalist awards too.

Nagarjuna’s special appearance in Yuva serial?

Nagarjuna is producing a TV serial titled Yuva which is being directed by Chuniya on Annapurna Studios banner. This film is being successfully telecasted on MAA TV. Director SS Rajamouli did a special appearance for this serial in the past. Heroine Anushka is doing another special appearance as hair stylist. In reliably learnt that Nagarjuna is expected to do a special appearance for the 100th episode of Yuva.

Chintakalaya Ravi (Software Engineer): Ventakesh's next movie

Chintakalaya Ravi (Software Engineer), Ventakesh's next, is ably decorated by glam dolls Anushka and Mamta Mohandas. Nallamalupu Srinivas is producing the flick and Yogi (Oka Raju, Oka Rani) is directing it. The shooting started way back in March and the story flips between Hyderabad, Vizag and the US. Kona Venkat has written the story for this film.

Music director Devi Sri Prasad is all smiles nowadays. Why? Because the composer has been asked by Kamal Haasan and Oscar Ravichandran to do the background score for the most-awaited movie of the year, Dasavathaaram. Devi Sri Prasad has previously composed for Vijay's Sachin and Suriya's Aaru in Tamil.

Dasavathaaram stars Kamal Haasan in 10 roles along with Asin and Bollywood glam queen Mallika Sherawat, who has an important role in the film. The music of Dasavathaaram is by Bollywood's Himesh Reshammiya. However, the makers were in search of a composer to do the BGM as Himesh was busy with his Hindi projects.
They had initially approached music maestro A.R. Rahman, who was initially supposed to compose the music too. However, Rahman too was busy with prior commitments and politely declined the offer. Finally, the trio of Kamal Hasan, director K.S. Ravikumar and Oscar Ravichandran zeroed in on the hotshot Tollywood composer to do the BGM and Devi Sri Prasad willingly accepted the offer.

Devi Sri Prasad is also the composer of Kanthaswamy, starring Vikram which the other most-awaited movie of 2008. Looks like the energetic composer is having a great time and we at galatta.com wish him the very best in his endeavours.

Parugu Audio, Parugu Songs by Mani Sharma

Bommarillu Bhaskar is back with this second movie for astute producer Dil Raju. Together, they touched the hearts of many movie lovers with a poignant relationship drama in Bommarillu, so one almost unhesitatingly assumes that their second venture would be as entertaining as their first, if not more. Quite honestly, in Telugu film industry there is nothing more disappointing than a director, debuting with great promise and talent, falling with a thud in his/her second outing. Off the top of my head, I can come up with at least five examples but that’s not what you and I are here for.

If Bommarillu brought acclaim for Siddarth and Genelia, one wonders how Parugu can further cement the soaring popularity of Allu Arjun and establish a newbie like Sheila. Despite Bommarillu being a father-son saga, Genelia stole the show. Similarly, will Parugu, being touted as a father-daughter relationship drama, give Arjun ample scope for a rare display of histrionics?

Mani Sharma works for the first time with Bhaskar, Raju and Arjun in Parugu and his compositions primarily reek of melody here. Also, almost all the songs come across as situational, meaning, visuals could enhance the way the songs work on you. Unlike Jalsa’s music, that caught on instantly and didn’t need any backing from the movie, Parugu’s songs may take time to grow on and if the movie clicks, then there is no stopping this album.

Tamil Nadu government has decided to come out with a documentary movie to encourage children to go to school. Since Vijay,Surya and Maddy are very popular among children, 3 of them are roped in into this venture.
